I have been wanting Stampin' Up!'s Netting Background stamp since it first came out and I just got it and have been dying to use it with the Creative Elements Stamp set and today was the day! Armed with my coffee, I headed into my stamp room this morning and then just sat there staring at the two sets. It wasn't as if I was waiting to soak up their stamp energy or anything, (but now that I wrote that, maybe I should), and I wasn't waiting for them to actually talk to me. I was more or less trying to imagine colors. I knew that I wanted it to be a softer look, but I did not want a lot of pastels either. So I sat some more, just staring.
Then, after finishing my first cuppa, I decided on reds and yellows, and remember I said that I wanted it softer? Enter Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake and this is what you get…
My first error was stamping the Netting Background in Crumb Cake, but was fixed by cleaning the stamp and throwing some So Saffron ink on there.
And the only Big Shotting done was the scallop square from the Square Scallop Duo Die from Stampin' Up!
Add some Riding Hood Red Taffeta Ribbon and some hand cutting out of the flower and you have your instant card.
So what did I do with the piece that I first stamped the Netting background stamp on with Crumb Cake – instant inside of the card! Why throw it away? That was a fun way to use it!
The only piece that might be a bit hard to see is the punched piece of Riding Hood Red, it was punched with the 1 3/4" Circle punch, just to help my flower pop.

Megan-what a beautiful card! I like the simplicity of it but yet it has an elegance about it as well. Can’t wait to receive my bow maker from you so that my ribbons will look as great on a card as yours do!
If I had a home computer, I would be ordering your video series because I love watching your videos-you make card making projects easy to do this way. Alas, I do not and so I just have to take what I can get from your emails-you are so very talented at card making. Thank you also for the great tip on looking to Designer Paper (DP) for color combos! What a GREAT and timely tip.
