I love creating textures on paper for card making and the “new” Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folders you can add a TON of texture with just one quick swipe through your Big Shot. Take a look at this card:
That is NOT printed paper! I used the Hexagons Dynamic Folder on Whisper White card stock to get those gorgeous deep impressions. Here's a peek from the side where you can see how much texture there really is:
See the ripples at the bottom of the white panel? That's how much depth you get from these folders.
And guess what? Not only is the Hexagons folder returning but there are three NEW ones in the new catalog! Demos aren't allowed to show pics yet but I can tell you that if you like leaves, barn wood or ruffles you are going to be extremely excited when you see them on page 211!
Here's a quick tip when using these in creating textures on paper, specifically card stock. If you use Stampin' Up! colored card stock OR the new Thick White and the soon to be available Thick Vanilla – yup, I said it! – spritz the panel with a little water using one our Stampin' Spritzers (or any non-aerosol mister) and then run it through the Big Shot in the folder. This will help the paper relax a little and you will get even MORE dimension!
Here are the other items I used to make this card:
Now THANKFULLY neither the Dragonfly stamps nor the Thinlits are retiring BUT in the new catalog they will no longer be available as a bundle. If you love these combined items, save yourself some moolah and order them now while you can still save 10%! Here's a peek at how pretty those babies look all blinged up:
Aren't they pretty? You can send this card to a woman, a man, a kid, a coworker. I love cards that are universally appealing with no changes other than maybe colors or a greeting. And speaking of colors, this card IS Night of Navy but the black looks pretty good too!
Check out your stash for other things you might have for creating textures on paper and if you come up short watch for these new folders in the new catalog!
