Fun Project Coloring Characters With Alcohol Markers
Today is a fun project where we are coloring a character from a brand new Catherine Pooler Designs stamp set with my favorite alcohol markers, OLO™.
I shared these new stamps on a unboxing video I made on YouTube and I got a lot of questions about headless girl stamps.
To be honest, I have never understood the trend. So I did what I thought was best, and asked the owner herself! I said I was going to steal her words, but I will fully give the credit to Catherine.
She said, “It's really hard to do faces and to color them – and when you put a face on them, they become ‘someone'”.
That was such a lightbulb moment to me!!!
After she said that, I went and looked at the stamps again and I could picture anyone's head on them. The hair didn't have to be curly or straight. The face shape didn't matter.
ALL of the reasons I have stayed away from realistic images of people was for those reasons, I just never put it together.
I have never struggled with faces on chibi style images or cartoons, but then when they were supposed to look like a real person, it always looked like someone else and not an image I could identify with!
Man, oh man, I love lightbulb moments in crafting, don't you?
So today I am sharing a VERY different style video. It's a video I made for this card and I had no idea what I was going to make when I turned on the camera.
It's not practiced, I don't have a sample to share upfront, it's just me doing my thing with fun products.
Intrigued? I hope so!
Real quick, let me share the list of supplies with you.
The Supplies
This post may contain affiliate links, which means I may receive a small commission, at no cost to you, if you make a purchase through a link.
Here's the list of stamps and supplies I used except for the markers, those are listed below. The stamp set and dies are listed in the bundles they are part of first, and then also how you can get them individually.
Now we are onto the wonderful alcohol markers, yay!
When you order with OLO™, you will pick if you want the brush or chisel tip. My advise when choosing is to get some of each and see which you like better. I have many colors with both tips. In the video today, I am using all brush tips.
Here's the link to order, they ask that in the notes section at checkout, please enter Meg in there. We, OLO and I, are trying to track how people are learning about their markers, so that's why we ask!
- Y 2.3 2.2, 1.2, 1.1
- OR 7.2 OR 7.3
- R 0.6, 0.5
- B 0.2, 0.3
- O 4.3

When you start with these supplies, you can make this adorable card:
Ready to see that video? I hope so!
Again, it's not my typical style video, as I was creating on the fly. I would love to know in the comments what you think about that.
Well? What do you think about how this card came together? And if you were doubting the “headless girls”, what do you think now? I am smitten with them and now need to get the Alana In The City stamps and dies.
Thank You
Thank you for being here today to see this we are coloring characters with alcohol markers project. My mission is to inspire you to try new things and make wonderful cards. I can't wait to share the next card with you. XOXO, Meg
I loved watching you color and make this card.
But I must have missed somewhere where you got the wire cutter and the name of it – the tool you cut apart the dies. I got some new dies to make Halloween cards & had a devil of a time cutting them apart.
Thanks for your videos! I sure do enjoy them-especially now that I am stuck at home recuperating from surgery.
Hi! There are the wire cutters I use and LOVE: https://amzn.to/3A3wk09. And I am delighted you like my videos!!! So sorry you are recovering from surgery, I hope it’s a quick recovery!
