Clean and simple cards are my favorite to make. It took me a while to get the hang of them because I kept trying to overload them. The trick is knowing what's enough and which cards need a bit more of something. That something can be anything, which is another element that can throw people.
I love stamp sets that can stand on their own – meaning that they don't need a lot of stuff to show them off. Today's card features a stamp set that has both my image and my sentiment, which is always a win – but not mandatory for clean and simple cards.
I love the cuteness of the image with the perfection of words in the sentiment.
This fun stamp set is called Fall Hedgies from Crafty Stamp Co. The name says exactly what it is, but there are several images that I use year-round, regardless that it has Fall in it's name.
With the temperature about 108 today, I have anything but Fall on my brain, but I needed a thank you card and this stamp set came to mind.

And it's clean and simple using just two extra elements beyond the stamp set and markers.
I added in some patterned paper that I really want an entire package of just that pattern and one other from that same pack. It's just the simple heart background that works perfectly for this card.
The pattern of the paper doesn't overwhelm the card, it's just a simple background that supports the message of the card.
And then I added a small bow tied from a narrow twine.
That little red strip of cardstock is a scrap piece that I colored with R1.5 OLO Marker so it perfectly matched the red in the mushroom.
I love this little hedgie so much, she's just cute and fun to color. A friend of mine wants it as a tattoo, but I won't say who, lol!
