Christmas Card Idea – Christmas Bliss From Stampin' Up!

Are you ready for a Christmas card idea using the new Christmas Bliss stamp set from Stampin' Up!?  I hope so!  Even though it should hit 100 degrees in Texas today, it's Christmas time in the stamp room.  And as always, I added the list of supplies used to the bottom of this project to make it easy for you.

The funny thing is that it wasn't supposed to be a Christmas card when the card started out.  It was supposed to be a thank you card.  I was working with a different stamp set and different color palette and this idea kept popping in my head.  I kept trying to push it out of my head and finally quit fighting it and went with it.  And I am thrilled that I did – I LOVE IT!

I can't really tell you where the inspiration for the colors came from – it was originally red and green.  But it kept changing and evolving and was really just trial and error to get the colors.  In the end, it is Real Red, Marina Mist and Hello Honey.

The stamp set is the new Photopolymer stamp set from Stampin' Up! called Christmas Bliss.  Here is something that I found out today about Photopolymer – you can't use your markers on it.  I should have taken a picture of what happened, but just trust me, if you want part of your images to be different colors, this is not the material you need.

So all the ornaments are in Marina Mist rather than all different colors, which also turned out fine.  When they were multi colored, it was just too busy.

The sentiment also comes from the same Christmas Bliss stamp set – it is a fun set.  Hang on, let me just grab an image for you so you can see the entire set.

(And I finished a video yesterday that I will post this week with another card using this stamp set.)

Then it was time to add some texture.

For the card base I went with the Tiny Triangles Embossing Folder for the dry embossing on the Whisper White.  Then a bit of texture was added by stamping Real Red ink on the Real Red circle using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set.

A bit more was added with the faux stitching using the Chalk Marker all around the Real Red layer.  And then I chose a ribbon that has texture to it rather than just being a flat ribbon.  And then added a bow using the 10 Second Bow Maker to get it just right!

Then it was time to do the inside of the card.

I duplicated the faux stitching using the Chalk Marker and then just stamped the ornaments again:
