If you are like me you know a lot of people who love cats and today I have some spooky Halloween cat cards to make for those people in your life who you know would get a tickle out of one.
I love how the stripes from the ribbon combined with the doily on the word covered background really add a ton of depth and texture to this card. But it's so ridiculously easy to make AND can be switched up with any colors and papers, give you cat cards to make year round.
Picture this card with a soft floral in place of the word motif, swap out the greeting and the ribbon, match the card stock to the paper and you have a whole new card with a completely different meaning. Easy peasy!
You can see that I let the doily go off the edge of the card, let the cat go off the edge of the doily, let the banner go off the edge of the ribbon – all of these little tweaks create that perception of depth which always makes a card look more luxurious. And adding those little scraps of the Black Vintage Crochet Trim at the edge of the ribbon and under the banner add even more luxury with so little effort!
Here's what you will need for these cat cards to make for Halloween:
All I needed to add here were the Doilies. I used the Holly Berry Builder punch to punch out the little “OR” on the banner but you can use what you have.
I don't like to leave cards nakkie inside so here's a quick peek at how I used some scraps and a little trim to dress up the interior:
While you read this post did you think of a bunch of people who are deserving of a kitty card like this? When I first started I was thinking I was making it because it was cute and by the time I was done I had thought of a bunch of people who would LOVE this. I also plan to make a small number of batch cards using this example for when people adopt or lose their kitties. And now you have the perfect template for cat cards to make for your feline loving friends!
