I have been putting up a lot of cards with washi tape lately and people are really enjoying them! Thank you for all your feedback on my Facebook page and if you aren't following me over there you should be; we have lots of fun conversations about all things stamping and then some!
After I posted the gorgeous Pop of Pink card the other day someone contacted me and said she was terrified of trying to line things up and “getting it wrong”. Well, just like there's “no crying in baseball”, there's no “getting it wrong” in crafting. It's just a “design feature”. But I heard what she was saying – we all want our creations to be as gorgeous as we can make them.
So I played around a little and came up with a card that is just as fabulous as the first one but was even easier to make! Check it out:
See the difference? I just wrapped the washi tape around the square and mounted it without the washi tape behind it. It's a totally different look but just as beautiful! I can SO see this as a masculine card with a different washi tape collection.
I hope this mini-series is encouraging you to try something new. I know for me washi tape just wasn't on my radar that much and now that I have used it I can see how having this inexpensive, easy to use product can really pop up my projects when I need either just a little sump'm sump'm or want to create a focal point using the washi tape. I never thought I would make so many cards with washi tape and if I can go bananas over something you know it's gotta be fun!
