For this card, it all started with a unique color palette – it is our newest Color Inspiration in Stamping Family. It's one I would never naturally pick, but even though I struggled with it, I am happy with the results. The Color Inspiration section is one of several sections providing inspiration to Stamping Family members. If you aren't a member, click here to learn more about it.
After having our color palette, it was time to dial in which sentiment I wanted to use for this birthday card. I opted for another unlikely choice. It is the Four You stamp set, which is a favorite of mine, but the sentiment was too long for this particular project. Grabbing my Stamp-a-Ma-Jig and stamp cleaner, I was able to split the text into two lines, working perfectly for this card.
Then it was all down to the layering. Lots of layering in specific places.
The patterned paper is the Lullaby paper from Stampin' Up! And then the next few layers were just for pops of color incorporating all the colors in the Color Inspiration. The pop of color I like the most is the Blushing Bride banner under the sentiment, it added so much to the card. My second favorite pop of color is the Calypso Coral circle under the rhinestones.
For the inside of the card, I just went with a Blushing Bride layer to tie it all together and not have a nekked inside. Here is the finished DIY Birthday card:
