Today's card features Betsy's Blossoms, a new stamp set from Stampin' Up! and also some new ink. This set may look a little familiar, the pattern was on DSP a while back and it was so popular that they made it into a stamp set! It is a fun one with birds, flowers, etc., the stamp set images are posted below.
Now let's dish on the new ink. Is it awesome? Yes. Do I think that most new items are awesome? Yes. So now that we have that out of the way, let me share with you what my local stampers thought. One asked if we really had to use the other kind (the previous ink pad) on her card this weekend. One asked how quickly they can come in. Another asked what is wrong with the old ink pads. Let's talk about this last one…
The other ink pads are just fine, there is nothing wrong with them. The new ink pads do not require really much effort to get ink on the stamps, especially the bold image stamps. And because the surface is not woven, you do not see the woven lines on your cardstock when your image is stamped like you sometimes do with the previous ink pads when they needed to be reinked. You do not need to apply much pressure to stamp your images. Who was amazed by this? Susan was, not only does she have carpal tunnel, but she also has arthritis. For her, stamping can sometimes be painful, but not with the new ink pads.
If you have any questions about the new ink pads, please let me know, I am happy to answer any question you have.
Onto today's card…
I admit that I cheated this morning. It is Monday, I am only one cuppa coffee into my morning and I cannot find my glasses. Sounds like a Monday, right? What I cheated on was the scallop border at the bottom. Just punching an extra strip of the cardstock behind the Soft Suede cardstock layers gave me the look I wanted without any stress, I knew there was no way that I would be able to measure correctly this morning for my scallops.
Next, it was like a circle punch-a-palooza. I grabbed my circle punches, my scallop circle punches and just went crazy! The ribbon is the new stitched grosgrain ribbon in Whisper White. The darkest pink is the new Primrose Petals. That is the cardstock for the base of the card and the big stamped flower.
