Goal for today's card was to create an easy birthday card anyone can make that fits this requirement: a card that you can make a ton of and then put all different sentiments at the bottom – and the first stamp set that came to mind was Stampin' Up!'s Madison Avenue, it is one of the Sale-a-Bration stamp sets (SALE-A-BRATION ENDS ON FRIDAY!).
I love Stampin' Up!‘s Madison Avenue because of how it works with the Floral Frames Framelits. That is probably what first drew me to this set.
This color combination was a bit out there for me, I grabbed some colors really wanting to push myself out of my comfort zone. I chose Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Daffodil Delight, a light sprinkle of Soft Suede and then a pop of Cherry Cobbler. Normally I would reach for Rose Red or a muted red for this color combo, but today I am taking a walk on the wild side. And I love the card, it is just right in my opinion.
I should have taken a before and after of this card. You see, the first time I made it, there was no texture on the Bashful Blue, and it looked ‘fine'. But I was not going for ‘fine'. I played with several different embossing folders and the Honeycomb won. Now the blue is more than ‘fine' it really completes the card.
The joy of this card is that it is versatile enough to suite almost any occasion. I chose birthday, because I always seem to run out of those for some reason.
