Adorable Congrats Card for Kids

Today I’m going to show you how to make an adorable card that is perfect for kids of all ages. I love this card because it's got the great dinosaurs, it's got some dry embossing to it, it's got little touches to pull all the elements together, and it's super easy to make.

One of the things that makes this card so easy is the pattern paper gives us our color palette. From the colors on our dinosaur, that tells me that we are going to use Pool Party, Mango Melody, and Lovely Lipstick. What first brought me to Stampin’ Up! many years ago is the color coordination – because they just make it easy. You can see that everything on this card flows together so well.

The first thing that we are going to do is fussy cut the dinosaurs, I just picked two from the Dinoraur patterned paper.  Here is that paper:

I just cut out two of them from that top pattern, and afterwards I stamped a giant sentiment.

I love this stamp set. I'm going to take a minute to talk about the stamp set. This stamp set is called Seriously The Best, it is on page 60 of the occasions catalog, and it is seriously, the best!  A lot of people might miss this because they think it’s part of a kit because it is shown with a card kit of pre-made and pre-cut pieces that go along with it and it's a suggested stamp set. Seriously The Best is a stamp set with a set of eight, and look at how huge these fabulous sentiments are. I love this stamp set and this one is only $19, it is a huge deal and I feel that it will be overlooked.

I stamped the congrats in Lovely Lipstick on a piece of Whisper White card stock that is 4-1/4” by 1-3/4”. The next thing I did was I dry emboss a piece of white card stock that is 4” by 5-1/4” using the Brick & Mortar embossing folder.

When I started putting all these elements together onto the Mango Melody card base, I realized something was missing, just something that wasn’t there that needed to be there. So I stared & studied the shapes on my dinosaurs. I noticed the diamond pattern on the left side of the one dinosaur, and across the top of the other. It made me think to grab my pinking shears. I took a small piece of Pool Party just on about a 1 1/4” strip, enough to have five little mountains. I just tucked them behind the sentiment layer.

And just like that, we have our adorable congrats card for a kid!
