I'm not a fan of the traditional holiday fruit cake. My Aunt Margaret used to have one delivered to us every Christmas and my mom would make us each eat some of it, so we could give an earnest thank you. It would have been a more sincere thank you if I hadn't have had to eat it…. but moving on.
THIS fruit cake is one I can totally get behind!
I think it's adorable – even though I have no idea what the middle section is. I just loved it with the color combination! And that's the beauty of card making, it doesn't all have to work “in real life”, we get to create it with card stock.
Recently on social media, someone asked me (and forgive me, I tried to look on my social channels and find who it was) which colors of Catherine Pooler Inks I like the most.
And my answer was her Party Collection because I like bright colors. This card really covers my favorites except that Party Dress isn't included. But this one hits all the marks.
I did a bit of a twist though for reds. I LOVE her Rockin' Red but for this card, Samba really did look better, so I went with it.
But I love a great red, a bright yellow, a wow pink, and a pretty blue. OH… and greens. I really do need all the greens in my life. Not because it's my favorite, but a green can set the entire tone of a card. Hear me out on this…
Take a bright red and pair it with a lime green – you have bright/whimsical theme.
Take that same bright red and pair it with an olive green – totally different vibe, right? More richness, more formal.
So that's why I need to have all the greens in my world.
OK, I have shared all of that, let me share the card with you.

How incredibly fun is this?!?!? I adore it! It's fun and whimsical, cute and vibrant – all the things!
