No Stamping? No Problem! A Thank You Card Full of Texture

Some cards prove that ink isn't always the star of the show.

Today's project doesn't use a single stamp, yet it's filled with interest thanks to layers of texture, die cuts, and a bright pop of color. This card combines products from Catherine Pooler's Sizzix collection with one of her signature word dies to create a clean, modern thank you card that's surprisingly easy to recreate.

What immediately drew me to this design is how every element has its own job. The embossed green panels add beautiful texture without overwhelming the card. The layered Big Thanks sentiment becomes the focal point, and that cheerful butterfly adds just the right splash of color and movement. Together, they create a card that's simple, fresh, and full of personality.

A Few Measurements

One of my favorite things about this layout is that it doesn't require large pieces of cardstock. In fact, it's perfect for using scraps!

  • Green embossed panels: 3 pieces at 1-1/8″ x 3-1/2″
  • White sentiment strip: 1″ x 4″
  • Butterfly and sentiment can be die cut from scraps.

It's amazing how a few small pieces can come together into such a polished design.

Why This Layout Works

The three embossed panels create rhythm across the card while leaving small white spaces between them to keep everything light and airy. Instead of covering all that gorgeous texture, the sentiment stretches across the lower portion of the panels, letting the embossing still peek through.

Then comes my favorite detail…the butterfly.

Layering the butterfly slightly over the sentiment softens the bold word die and gives your eye another place to land. Add a tiny embellishment to the center, and suddenly the entire card comes to life.

It's proof that you don't need complicated techniques to create something that feels special.

Why Catherine Pooler's Sizzix Collection Works So Well Together

One of the things I love about Catherine Pooler's product lines is how easily they work together. The Sizzix dies and embossing folders coordinate beautifully with her exclusive word dies, so you can mix products from both collections to create cards that are uniquely yours.

If you're looking to expand your die collection, these are the kinds of versatile products you'll reach for again and again.
