6th Week of Halloween – Wrapping it up with scraps!
Scraps… They are a joy and a pain all at the same time. When you don't have any, you stare at that huge 8-1/2″ x 11″ pristine piece of card stock and hate to use it to punch out a 1″ circle, right? When you do have them, you have to store them, which can be a pain.
But what about the extras? The pieces you stamped and punched and didn't use on a project? What about left over ribbon and lace? Or the random button?
That is what this week's project is all about.
All throughout the Halloween creative season as I call it, I kept a baggie for these types of items. From projects where I initially stamped on Pumpkin Pie card stock and then wanted to use Tangerine Tango – like all the “rejects” that were too good for the trash bin.
A quick trip to the dollar store provided me with salt and pepper shakers. I looked for the ones that had the lid like below. Some wire and wire cutter and I was off to the races.
Then it was time to really look through my scraps and decide what was best where. I hit the total jackpot on having my fence and tree wrap around the base of my shaker perfectly.
