Sunflower Thank You Cards
So before I share these I just have to say I am absolutely LOVING this new sunflower stamp set and coordinating dies from Stampin' Up!. If you didn't hear, there are 34 bundles in the new catalog and while I liked this one – well, I mean, I DID buy it! – I didn't realize that I was going to LOVE it!
This card looks like it was way harder to make than it really was so you can impress your friends and family with your mad paper crafting skillz when you send one of these beauties out. Let's take a peek!
I know, right? Those bright yellow blooms just float on that white background – so pretty! And there are some tricks to this beautiful illusion!
First, I used the new Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder on the white panel. Those of you who know me know I have an embossing folder addiction and with good reason! The texture and dimension that embossing folders offer with one whirl through your machine adds TONS of visual interest to every project. Here's a closeup of that lovely, rich texture.
See how the added “shadowing” of the embossing adds a luxurious look? Then I “floated” the sunflowers over the panel using Stampin' Dimensionals. These are also a fabulous “trick” to have in your toolbox because anything popped up a bit off the surface of a project also adds depth and dimension. Doing this gives the eyes something to do while it's taking in all your handcrafted fabulousness.
I made a stack of these sunflower thank you cards but actually left the greeting off a few of them because I realized that the ONLY thing that made this a thank you card was the word. Double win! I can stick any other phrase on here and the card will still work like a charm!
The other thing I really liked about these particular cards were that the work was totally portable. I stamped and cut out a big ol' stack of sunflowers, dropped them and my Stampin' Blends in an empty stamp box and took them with me to practice. Do any of you all have kids on sports teams? Like, how many practice can you watch? Ammiright? When you bring along a little coloring project like this, the time goes MUCH faster. Just try not to color with your tongue sticking out in case the other parents get worried……
If you are curious about the Stampin' Blends, they are something I show off a lot over on Stamping Family. The latest video, #570 (yes, that's as in there are five hundred and seventy videos over there for members' viewing!), even features this same stamp set. If you haven't checked it out, go here to learn more – the only thing missing in the whole place is YOU!
And if you are wondering where that cute little “Thanks” came from, it's actually just a part of the longer greeting that comes with this stamp set. I used a Stampin' Write marker to ink up just one word on one of the sentiments, stamped and cut it out with scissors. ALWAYS keep your eyes peeled for parts of greetings that you can use and dig out those markers – it gives you a lot of extra use out of your stamps!

July 2020 Hostess Code
For orders over $150 placed through my store, don't use the hostess code, you will still get you free tutorials from me. Also, if you don't get your tutorials, make sure in your Stampin Up store profile that you haven't selected the option to not allow the demonstrator to contact you. If that is checked, even if you use the code, I can't see your name/email, nuttin' – so I don't know where to send your tutorials.
Go ahead and pin this image in your “favorites” board so you can fine this when you need it!
What more could you ask from a project? Something gorgeous, busy work for time when you are stuck in place for a spell, making something cheerful……these sunflower thank you cards are almost as satisfying to make as they will be to receive!
