Hi Friends! Today we are creating with a fun cover plate die that I just discovered to make a simple Christmas card.

This die is PERFECT for busy paper!!! It helps break up a busy pattern and tame it down just enough to help your other elements shine!

This particular die has four scallop window cut outs in it – and to me that's a double win because then I have four cute die cut labels that I can use on other cards!

Let me share today's card with you and then I can tell you more about it…

I love, love, love that candy cane background paper! It's exactly what I was looking for for making a simple card. It gives the cutesy vibe I was hoping form and it let's the sentiment do the rest.

BUT, if that white frame wasn't on there, the layered sentiment would be completely lost.

Don't Have Many Cover Plate Dies?

Well, let's fix that, lol!

In all seriousness, I used to stay away from them. They seemed to be pricier in my mind and I didn't get “as much bang for my buck” getting just one die instead of a set.

But then one day, the clouds parted in the sky, the birds of happiness appeared outside my craft room, and a lightbulb lit up as bright as could be and I realized that one cover plate die could work with SO many of the stamps and dies I already have!

It was like breathing new life into other supplies.

They don't replace something, they enhance so many things!

From that moment, I was hooked on them. I have a hard time saying no to them now.

Back to the card…

Another thing I am getting used to is having solid colors in patterned paper packs. At first I wasn't a fan. The more I have them, the more I LOVE them! I don't have to have an entire package of card stock to get that perfect color – and that's a win in my book.

So the deep red die cut behind the white die cut sentiment is in the same patterned paper pack as the candy canes! Seriously, that's a big thumbs up for me.

This card is simple to create with just a few key supplies.

Seriously, that's it! Beautiful patterned paper from Brass & Bliss and the awesome cover plate die with the scallop cut outs!

Thank You!

Thank you for being here today! The past 18 months have been such a blessing to me! I absolutely love working with products from these smaller companies. It's been fun to introduce you to many of you and also for me to get to know them. It's a real honor and a privilege to share each and every project with you.

Remember this as you create, every project we make it meaningful. It may seem like a simple card to you, but it's a smile on someone else's face when they get it in the mail.

Make something that means something today! When you order supplies, support small businesses – like mine and Brass & Bliss. When you order their products through my links, it means the world to both me and to them. I don't say that enough as I get too concerned about being “too sale-sy”. But at the end of the day, crafters are going to order supplies. When you go through a link a content creator has shared, you create a double win.

Thank you for being here and I can't wait to share my next project with you!!! XOXO, Meg
