Queue up the music to Shake Your Groove Thing and sing along as we make today's card!
This fun card is a monochromatic card with a slight pop of color, perfect for Halloween season.
I started with a new, fun stencil from Crafty Stamp Co and went town! I couldn't wait to use this new stencil – I don't have anything else like it.
With the stencil, I used my Black Soot Distress Oxide ink pad with a blending brush. I chose this ink because I wanted different levels of black, and with this ink, the less you use, the more gray it is. So it gave me all different levels at one time.
Then it came time for the sentiment. I love the It's a Boo Thang stamp set! It just makes you sing every time. So you can get your groove on while stamping and blending.
For a fun pop of color, I used some patterned paper just along the left side of the stenciled layer. Let's see how it all comes together…

Cute, right? I love the shades of gray and black with the pop of color on the left. And the font on the sentiment is spot on, cute and fun!

Stencil Tool
It's been a while since I have talked about the Stencil and Stamp Tool from Sizzix. While I use it all the time, I haven't talked about it lately.
It's a great stamp positioner, but it's different than other platforms because it is also designed to work with your stencils. The grip sheet will hold your card stock in place and also your stencil on top. As you can see on the card above, that stencil didn't move one bit.
And that is the hardest thing with a stencil is keeping not only your card stock in place, but also your stencil. This tool does it all!
You can also get the spin adapter that allows you to take any stencil and create a fun “wreath effect.” Keep these tools in mind for sure if you are looking for a solution.
Until Next Time…
I hope you enjoyed today's project and I hope it inspires you to create! The stencil was my starting point, but that's just where the fun began.
This card is one that you can easily mass produce and it won't cost you an arm and a leg to make it. I try my best to keep budgets in mind with my crafting, and this one falls in line with that. One stencil, one small strip of patterned paper, and one stamp set. Totally budget friendly!
Until next time, XOXO, Meg
