My favorite friendships are the ones that endure during periods of absence. You know that friend that you haven't talked to in years, but you get on the phone with her, and you are able to pick right back up where you left off? You catch up on what the family is doing, what they've been doing, and it just feels right?
That's how my phone call went with Catherine a few weeks ago. We used to talk every day, roomed together, vacationed together with our hubbies, all the things. And then life got busy and we were busy doing our own things.
About 10 days after our phone call, my first package with her products arrived. I got the box about 8:45pm. Normally I am mentally winding down about that time. But I found myself tearing into the box and I pulled out the stamp set that was on top.
Then I dug around though the ink pads looking for the perfect colors to match this set. I had no idea what I was going to make, I just stamped.
About 45 minutes later, I had made this card.
I didn't use any specialty products, like dies – just ink, stamps, white card stock, my trusty scissors, and a few sequins.
Joy! I felt total joy! I even texted her a picture of this card late at night!

I didn't have any idea what I was going to create when I started. And that was a feeling I hadn't felt in a long time. It wasn't predictable, it was just creative.
I found myself cutting apart that sentiment with wild abandon. (It's all on one stamp.) I just cut it apart, still not knowing how this was going to come together.
After the sentiment was on the card, I felt like I needed another apple, so I stamped another one, cut it out, popped it up, and even more joy was there!
I'm so excited to share my first creative step in this new journey.
Here it is!

After it was made, I sat back and thought about the sentiment. Do you remember when I said I grabbed the stamp set on top? What are the odds it was going to be a stamp set about friendship? The cheesy part of me says I didn't pick the stamp set, the stamp set picked me.
Having the support of friends, including ones that you haven't talked to in years, that means everything!
What I Love Most About This Card
I love the brightness and the simplicity of it! Those crisply stamped apples are just perfection.
I love that it's bright pops of red and green on that white card stock. The yellow stamps were added to give it a bit of balance and I love how it turned out.
Simple supplies for a simple card – and one that brought me complete joy!
And all of this started with a friendship.
That's truly what makes this card so full of joy. I cherish all the friends I have made through this fun hobby of card making. Whether it's reaching out to the owner of a stamp company or being on a Zoom with Stamping Family, it's those friendships that mean the most.
What Do You Think?
What do you think of this card? Is it one that you would make? Are there any questions you have about it? Leave me a comment, let me know! I have a new video and more cards headed your way, so keep checking back. XOXO, Meg
This card is so cute and cheery! It will brighten anybody’s mood…
Thank you so much!!!
Love the card! It’s fun and makes me happy💕
This is such a “happy” card!! I love it! Meg, you were the first one to give me the courage to cut my stamps! Now when I want to, I just “do it”. So glad you cut yours, the sentiment is positioned just perfectly cut this way!
Woohoo!!! Love that you love it!
Really cute and cheerful. I know that feeling of “just can’t wait” when a surprise package arrives from an “old” friend. seeing these apples again, makes me wonder why I didn’t buy the set. I often have that feeling and sometimes say “why did I buy this”? over something I currently own. I said it a lot over the past few months as I purged for a flea market sale. Always enjoy your posts!
Thank you Cynthia! I love this stamp set also 🙂
Adorable!
Thank you!
I love the simplicity of your card even thought it doesn’t look simple. My mind is seeing how I could make a card like this with a number of different stamps I have in my stash. Thank you for sharing!!!
Yay! I love to hear that!
