If you are like lots of other stampers, you are always looking for new ideas and here is just one of many birthday card ideas using washi tape. Now, washi tape isn't one of my favorite things to use but in this project it provided the PERFECT little splashes of color needed to make this card a super cute one. Let's take a look:
You don't see a lot of black being used on birthday card ideas, but this playful spotted washi tape offers a perfect foil to the bright Melon Mambo and the soft Mint Macaron – black can be like the salt in cooking – a color unifier. The addition of the coordinating washi in those colors and then the addition of the Crushed Curry in the balloon washi adds just enough energy to make this a really fun card.
Here are the supplies I used to make this:
The other fun thing about this card is that it is derived from a sketch used over on Stamping Family. We post a weekly sketch to help people be inspired and use them to generate baby card ideas, thank you card ideas, birthday card ideas – just about anything and everything for the idea collector! I encourage you to try using this card as a one for your own birthday card ideas but if you get stuck, come on over to Stamping Family – at less than the price of a small plain pizza you will find TONS of inspiration and FUN!
Love this card! Seems so easy to make as well. Especially love the balloon punch. On my wish list, for sure!
