Y'all… I did a thing! A BIG THING!

I was asked to create a color palette with OLO™ Markers for summer, and I did! And rather than doing 1 palette, I created 2!!!

You've seen me using these markers for a few months now and you can see why I love them in the images I have shared and the videos I have created.

When I say I love them, I mean I love them!

Why 2?

Because sometimes we want to color and sometimes we want to blend. So we can have an assorted collection of beautiful summer colors for straight up coloring or we can have a collection of colors that are meant to be blended.

And what makes it even better is that I chose these colors with overlap in mind.

Each collection has 12 colors.

Rather than buying the markers in sets where you would wind up with two of the same color if you wanted both, there are a total of 16 colors. You can get all 16 and have the two complete sets! Each marker is sold individually and you get to choose the nib that you like the most.

What Makes The Blending Colors Unique

There are six main colors in the summer blending collection.

Most companies that offer a blending combination start with one color and simple make a “light” and “dark” option.

With OLO™, they are all unique colors that I paired up into blendable combinations.

If You Haven't Ever Tried OLO™ Markers Before…

Here's are my favorite features to them:

  1. You buy the markers by the 1/2 marker. This was different for me, but a feature I find brilliant! Each 1/2 marker hold more ink than 1 traditional sized alcohol maker. That is a game changer for anyone wants the most for their money!
  2. You chose the nib you want on your half maker. You can buy two 1/2 makers and make a full size marker, and have a different nib on each end or you can mix and match the markers where you have one color on one size and a different color on the other. You get to choose.
  3. The price point is insanely fantastic! The chisel tip half marker is only $3.39 and the brush half marker is $4.10. Pause and read that again…. you get twice as much liquid in the marker for only $3.39 or $4.10. Insane, right?
  4. You can get refills. And the refill process is equally as insane as the price. A new ink cartridge is $2.69. And to change them out is easy. Simple open the new cartridge. Remove the nib from your old marker (you can also get replacement nibs). Put the nib on the new cartridge and put the cap back on.
  5. The marker design is easy and helpful! The cap lids are the actual shade of the marker. And I mean true to color on this. So as you look at your markers, you know exactly how it will color. The barrels of the half maker are either gray or black. Black is for brush tip, Gray is for chisel tip.

I just shared the 5 things that make these markers insanely awesome… and those 5 things are exactly what frustrated me in the past about other markers – the half marker concept is just pure genius!

Choosing Which Nib To Start With

If you are new to OLO™, knowing which nib to start with may be a head scratcher. So here is my recommendation – get some of each to try out.

The ink flow from these markers is different than other markers. The more I have colored with these, the more I have been able to connect with others that use them. Some creatives only like the brush end, some only like the chisel. So it really is something you have to choose for yourself.

OLO™ is growing at a very fast rate and so some markers may only be available in one or the other. That's how I would up with some of each. I don't have a full set of both tips and I do great with both. But testing them out and having some of each has been a game changer for me.

How I Chose the Colors

These two collections were created with bright summer colors in mind. I went outside and took a lot of pictures. I went to our local garden center and took even more pictures. I wanted to truly capture colors we currently see in nature right now.

If you are just getting started with alcohol markers, these blending selections are a perfect way to start – as all you have to do is decide if you simply want an array of colors or if you want to dive into blending.

If you are experienced with alcohol markers and are just learning about OLO™ markers, these are the perfect way to dive in and see for yourself just what makes OLO™ marker the best!

I recommend that you add a ZERO and a Pure Black marker if you don't have them already.
