You know when you color in a great image for a card, but you need the perfect background for it?
I have just gotten my hands on a newer type of embossing folder from Sizzix, it's a fading texture folder. This folder is BIG! It's not only a 3D folder, but it's 6″ x 8-1/2″! Can you believe it?
I didn't know how I would feel about the size of it, since it's so much bigger than a regular embossing folder. But, it was a delight to figure out that I can dry emboss two pieces of 4″ x 5-1/4″ pieces of card stock at one time! How cool is that, especially going into the holiday season?
There are several patterns that have been released in this design line by Tim Holtz. And I couldn't wait to run this through my Big Shot. (Just wait until you see what else I make with it!)
So we have a great background, I can't wait to show you the image!
It's from a stamp set called Movie Monsters from Crafty Stamp Co. It's so much fun to color because there's no limit to the color combos you can do with it. I stuck with traditional Halloween colors, but you certainly don't have to.
This would be the perfect set to make an invitation to a movie night! Buttery popcorn and scary movies is a winning combination.
Drumroll please….

See how perfect the image goes with the background? Like it was meant to be!
To help the texture pop a bit more, I used some rub on paints over the raised sections and rivets. It is a simple touch but it makes all the difference.
