I love the movie Finding Nemo, one of my favorite lines, “Bubbles! Bubbles! My bubbles!”
That right there was the inspiration for this card.
Stencils have played such a huge role in the card making industry over the last almost decade. I refer to stencils as the new embossing folders. Both of them are around the same price point and they are reusable, making them both wins in my craft room.
I'm always surprised when I hear that long time stampers still haven't taken the plunge into the world of stencils.
If you struggle with stencils because they can move and shift, you have to have the right tool. I have it listed below for you.
If that's you, I would LOVE to know why in the comments below.
I made the background of this card with one stencil and one ink pad. But then it needed something to tie it all together. Before I tell you all of that, let me share the card with you…

I love the image on this card. It's from a stamp set that is designed to be potatoes in action. Which I think is clever and and unique. At first I wasn't sure what to think about it, the more I use it the more I enjoy it.
One of the biggest reasons I love it is that it gets me coloring differently. I am a creature of habit, and I am not one to typically mix my neutrals. But when coloring a potato in a shark costume, what else are you supposed to do?
Coloring is such a treat for me. I find it so relaxing. You just have to have the right paper and the right markers. Keep in mind that different formulas of ink will absorb differently into the card stocks you choose. My favorite thing is when a marker company has their own card stock, then you know they were meant to work well together, if it's a reputable company.
Many of you know that OLO Markers have been a game changer for me. They brought me back to my long abandoned love of coloring. Sometimes we think we need a new hobby, but other times, we just need an upgrade in supplies.
Once the image was colored, I needed my sentiment.
Some white embossing on black card stock is a classic and just happens to work great with this card.
I went with a blue ink on my stenciled for a pop of color since everything else is in neutral tones. But the background needed something.
Some black splashes of ink did the trick and this card was complete!
