I have mentioned several times before my strong desire to be an artist, I love watercoloring because it allows me to be an artist, without needing a perfect look!  You can go outside the lines and it is 100% acceptable.  So today I wanted to share with you some watercoloring tips that are perfect for our Stampin' Up! Inks.

One of the questions that I get asked a lot, "Why do I need watercolor paper?"  Have you ever gotten paper wet, and then it balls up and tears?  That is not what happens with watercolor paper.  This paper is made out of cotton and is designed to soak up water.  The next question I get asked is why it comes in the size it does.  The reason is simple, you can place it on the front of your card in the original size and it creates a perfect border between that and your card base.  The standard card size is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  And our watercolor paper is 3 3/4" x 5".

Onto our Aqua Painters, these are incredible!  You simply unscrew the top (the brush part) and fill it with tap water.  When it runs out of water, fill it up again.  Easy breezy!  And they come in a set of two, one with a fine tip and one with a broad tip.  I was so excited when Stampin' Up! came out with these.  I had tried all different brushes, similar items, and none of them compared.  The other brushed met their demise and went off to the great dump where they belonged!

So today's video shows you how to do simple watercolor techniques for shading and grounding.  Be sure to post your comments below this video, I am anxious to see what you think!
