I miss my daughter like crazy! I am so proud of her for finding her dream school and working hard to be accepted there. I love that she is doing amazing cool things in her major as a freshman. I love that she is appropriately struggling in her classes – honor the struggle, right?!?!
But today… today I am missing her like crazy. We have several important family events that, for the first time, she isn't here for. She wanted to come home so badly for my birthday, but her test schedule didn't align. So she wasn't here for that, she won't be here for Easter, and she won't be back for Mother's Day as Miss Overachiever had to make the competition team for her school's motorsports team. (That's another story that will be coming up!)
So I did what always makes my heart hurt, and I put together a package for her and shipped it to her on Monday.
The bad thing about sharing this ahead of time is that she follows me, ha! So she might see it here first. I debated on sharing the card on here first, but I chose to in case you are looking for an Easter card idea, I would love to give you that inspiration.
I found the cutest carrot die set a little bit ago, I flat out love the simplicity of it. It's a carrot outline, the orange section and the green section. No matching stamps, just easy! And it even has indention lines on it that add texture.
Of course, this time of year, it was popular and sold out… BUT I scoured the internet and found a similar one AND you can make a shaker card with it! I wish I had purchased that one instead, because you can do a simple version of it OR you can step it up into a shaker card.
Let me show you how this turned out…

How adorable is this? And let me tell you, adding the black and white ribbon made a world of difference!
All you need is a sentiment, a background die, and some ribbon and your card is complete!

It's hard to mail care packages, but a blessing at the same time. I love that girl with my whole heart! I hope she enjoys her card, the message inside (which I honestly wanted to say, Happy Easter, please drop out of school, and just come home – but I didn't!), and the cute little Easter gift I included in it.
Thank You!
Thank you for being a part of this paper crafting journey with me! I love the power of handmade cards. They are beyond measure – and you and me – we get to be a part of that world! My friends, that's pretty gosh darn cool. Until next time, XOXO, Meg
