As much as I love batch cards and easy cards and cute but quick holiday cards, every once in a while I like to make a one of a kind Christmas card for someone special. That's what I have for you today and SURE hope the little girl for whom I made this card doesn't see this post! Take a look:
I know, I know – I will give you a second. It's SERIOUSLY cute, right? And it may look complicated but it's actually not that hard to make, It has lots of elements but they are all made with some basic card making concepts.
We've got a sentiment that is actually two lines of text. I stamped it once in Real Red and then again in Soft Suede. Each word got cut apart and then they were layered on the Whisper White circle to make it a little more “fun”. And frankly, it is this step alone that makes this a one-and-done card so if you like to fussy cut, you might want to make a bunch of these! Here's a closer look:
For the cute little bear – this little cutie is so easy to make – you just need the right tools. You will want the stamp set and coordinating punch – and then she goes together so easily! (She also looks adorable on regular size tags OR as a gift tag – just sayin'!)
See those little hearts on our bear? Those are also on the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch! What all could you use those for? ‘Cause Valentine's Day is coming and shaker cards are still hot……Hmmmm……..
And I did pop up my cute little Teddie (is that the girl version of Teddy?) to make sure she got the most love.
Then we are ready to make our ring of patterned paper. Grab your circle thinlits and your big shot! I chose to run it through my big shot with both circles on there at the same time. I think it's just easier this way – it saves time and lining stuff up twice.
All of this goodness goes on a giant tag made from patterned paper with just a few little details and then that gets attached onto a card base and VOILA!
Here is everything you will want to pull out or order to make this card and SO many others with that stinkin' cute stamp set and punch
And remember, you don't have to make this card exactly like I did! You can make the little bears and put them on a solid circle with a single stamped greeting. You can make the cards actual TAG shaped! You can copy the tag idea and add a completely different motif. Go ahead and CASE this – it's why I post!
And remember, it's NEVER the degree of difficulty that makes a card one of a kind. It's the love and thought and care – quick and easy or crazy complicated – that makes that one Christmas card for someone special so, well, special!
