To day I want to share with you the tips you need for how to use Lovely Words Thinlits dies without losing your mind. Why do I say that? Well, Stampin' Up!, bless their hearts, didn't do the best job of showing people how these AWESOME word dies work. When *I* finally figured it out I was STOKED because these words are so perfect for so many different kinds of cards. First, take a peek at the card I made using them:
So pretty, right? And did you notice that I didn't use any stamps? That's what's so nice about this set of Thinlits – they do double duty as both a decorative element and a greeting and a focal point. Wait – that's TRIPLE duty! Cool!
So here's the image *I* think Stampin' Up! should have used in the catalog because this shows exactly what gets cut out:
The image in the catalog shows each of these cut out like a frame but this set of thinlits does NOT include that outer cut! So I made a video showing exactly how to do this and some tips to make it easier. Take a look:
Does that help? I did one recently on how to use the Eastern Medallion Thinlits Dies and people LOVED that video so I thought it might help here, too.
So more on this cute card – here's another peek:
I used a piece of the GORGEOUS Petal Garden Designer Series Paper Stack – like so many things I wasn't totally sold until I got it in my hands and saw all the beautiful patterns and colors. The colors here are both slightly retro and totally on trend and I just love that pop of bright against a old fashioned looking print! Remember, when you use a busy print like this you don't need a lot of doo-dads or dressing up on your projects. That's a time and money saver!
Here's a closer peek at the focal point:
You can see that I popped it up a little using Stampin' Dimensionals – I find that when you have a bright, solid element like this you can really make it “float” by adding that little bit of depth. Add a little bling and – Voila! Awesome card for that one friend who lifts you up and blings up your day!
Here are the items I used to make this project:
Here's a last look:
Now that you know how to use Lovely Words Thinlits dies like a pro, pull them out OR put them on your list and make some pretty cards!
I agree. Thank you for the video.
Thanks for the hints. I’ve had some problems getting good results so I can’t wait to try again.
Thank you for sharing such beautiful cards each week. #HomeMattersParty
