Birthday Card with Candles

Let's make a birthday card with candles!!!  Recently I shared a project using the Celebrate with Tags bundle from Stampin' Up!  In that post, I shared a tip about looking at the die images online to see fully what all you get in the set.  They can be a bit hard to see the details in the catalog.

While I could see that the die set included candles, I didn't pay much attention to them, I was looking to see what coordinated with the stamps instead.

These candle dies are awesome!!!

This is such a great year round bundle.  You can do so much with it!  And I feel like it's been forever since we had a new tag stamp set and the dies are fantastic!!

Let me share this cute birthday card with candles.

The Project

Here it is…

Birthday Card with Candles

I took the tag die cut and cut it in half, so I can use it on another project, I didn't need it to fold for this card.

Add your die cut candles on top and you have a great start for a tag or a card!

Make sure you use Adhesive Sheets on your card stock before you die cut your candles.  It makes it so much easier.  I also die cut extra flames in yellow and added them to the top of the black candles, it looked a little odd with completely black candles.

The Supplies

Here's a full list of supplies I used to create this card.  I looked and looked for the perfect sentiment that was the right size.  Oddly enough, I found this gem in the Elephant Parade stamp set (it also has a bundle so it's listed below even though I didn't use the Elephant dies for this card.)

Finishing Touches

The other things I added to the card was the strip of patterned paper.  That little strip helps that tag really pop.  Behind all of that is some ink splatter to give a bit of texture and help the tag stand out on the white background.  A cute little bow tied with the Black and White Gingham ribbon – my absolute favorite!!!

It's these finishing touches that really complete the card and have it all come together.

Thank You

Thanks so much for checking out today's project.  This birthday card with candles is a fun one to make.  I love the color palette and love the way it all comes together.  Try it!!  Order your supplies and give it a go – you won't regret it!  XOXO, Meg
