Using the Reason for the Season to Make a Christmas Card (Stampin' Up!)
Today I grabbed the new and coming soon Reason For the Season stamp set to make a Christmas Card – this is a set from the upcoming Stampin' Up! holiday catalog.
I thought it would take me longer to create the poinsettia flower than it actually did. But it didn't take long, PLUS I was able to use up a lot of Cherry Cobbler scraps.
What I like about this stamp set and punch combo is that the same stamp and punch are used for the leaves and the petals. It's a two-fer.
In the spirit of using up scraps, I used Crushed Curry card stock with the Festive Flower Builder Punch (that is the official name of the punch that was used for the petals and the leaves).
After the amazing flower was stamped, punched, and assembled, it was time to build out the rest of the card.
The beautiful sentiment has a fun mix of fonts and it is from the same Reason for the Season stamp set.
If you want a copy of the new Holiday catalog and don't have another demonstrator, please email me (meg@iteachstamping.com) with your contact info. It is a fabulous catalog!
I went with a basic embossing folder Elegant Dots on a piece of Smoky Slate card stock to help that flower really pop up off the Cherry Cobbler card base. I tried a couple of browns and the darker Basic Gray, but Smoky Slate was the clear winner.
Then to tie in the yellow from the center of the flower, I added two strips of Crushed Curry card stock behind the sentiment layer and it was perfect!
In the supply list, I haven't listed the stamp set and flower punch because I can't just yet, but I will do my best to get it updated the second I can!
But if this is a card you know you want to create, below are the other supplies and you will be able to space out your purchases before September 1st arrives at the holiday catalog goes live.
