Recently I shared my thoughts about the current Stampin' Up! Paper Pumpkin program and why I think it is a fabulous deal for people who love to craft. Today I want to share how I get even MORE out of these little boxes of surprise goodness by sharing my October 2022 Paper Pumpkin alternative ideas. Get a killer PRO TIP at the bottom to stretch this project kit even further!

For the boxes, I like having a different liner to the box. So I took apart another wrapper to make the insert. It was a wrapper I had already used to make a card below, and had this piece left over. These are SUPER cute little treat boxes! I love having these instant treats handy at Halloween. Sure, we hand out roughly 1.25 tons of candy to the trick or treaters but it's always fun to have something a little special to give to the grown up sized candy fans. I especially love using them as thank yous for our hard working delivery people!

And you know, I couldn't just put naked chocolates in these adorable boxes – that would be a TRUE Halloween horror! I used the bat stamp to quickly and randomly stamp all over some Pumpkin Pie card stock scraps, trimmed them to the width of the candy and just wrapped them around, trimming and sticking with a Mini Glue Dot. When I say you can whip out a ton of these in no time….. for about a hot minute I thought about doing it to ALL the Halloween candy.

Then I got started on my Paper Pumpkin alternative ideas. I mean, sometimes I adore the projects and just sit right down and turn them out. And sometimes I see other possibilities and just go with it.

I made two cards as experiments and I think they are seriously sweet!

The First October 2022 Paper Pumpkin Alternative Card

For this card, I was inspired by the playful irregularity of the plaid panels of one of the box wraps. I used a variety of circle punches and used up as much of one wrap to get as many circles in different sizes as I could. NOTE: Each wrap gives you two squares and three strips of this pattern so they make excellent layers for different elements and sentiments!

Then all I did was layer some Whisper White card stock onto a Gorgeous Grape card base, added the circles, added some of the little star embellishments from the kit and popped on a sentiment over a layered patterned circle set on a Basic Black scallop. I love all the curves and lines working together with those fun, not-at-all spooky colors!

The Second Alternative Idea From The October 2022 Paper Pumpkin

The second alternative project was just as easy! Again I layered Whisper White over Gorgeous Grape and made a strip of “designer paper” using a scrap of Whisper White card stock and that drop-dead fabulous Glitter Washi Tape from the current seasonal catalog. I trimmed the spiderweb wrap from the Paper Pumpkin down, layered it onto Basic Black and popped on one of the die cut spiders with some Mini Dimensionals. A quick greeting on a die cut banner and a couple more of those little stars ad this stunner was done!

Then you can trace and cut any and all of the gorgeous colors of card stock and huge variety of Designer Series Papers to make your very own custom treat boxes!
