I don’t like the new stamp pads
Hard to open, doesn’t fit the pad carousel that Stampin Up came out with.
My favourite brand is Catherine Pooler foam pad.
I love SU lids and ink pad style. I like the water reactive feature.
Most of my ink pads are sramp’n up; however, I hate how they open. I struggle with that and esp on a new one. Planning to switch them out and will choose either Gina K or Simon Says inks.
I love the stampin up stamp pads. The lid being attached and our of the way. I like the size and shape of them. Most stamps fit .on the pad
I like the colors if them. The stamp is clear and sharp. The new ones are so much smaller and do not give a clear crisp stamp. Not as big color selection.
I have only used Stampin’ Up! Ink pads….well except the black momento. I prefer SU’s earlier linen ink pads. They required less refilling and I never had an issue with the stamped image/words. I love that SU’s lids are attached and turn the ink pad upside down automatically when closed. I have forgotten to do this a few times with my momento. I do not like the new SU pads. They require a lot of refilling and I always need to move the ink around prior to inking up my stamp to get an even stamped image. I hope this helps you.
I love Stampin Up ink pads. Don’t love the container but love the ink
I really like Catherine Pooler inks. They stay juicy and are easily cleaned off the stamp, whether it be rubber or photopolymer. I have both the mini and regular sized ink pads. I’m not sure what you mean by favorite surface, but I use a Misti stamping tool.
I prefer the linen pads. Way less mess & can be reinked again & again. Image is also sharper with linen.
Ranger, Linen. Lid comes off completely, so easy to blend and water reactive. I am a complete newbie, and am not too knowledgeable on all inks. I do want to try Simon Says Stamp Pawsatively Saturated inks. The colors look beautiful and very easy to blend. I try to get it on sale if I can. It seems very expensive. Again, I’m still learning.
I like versafine Clair. I have trouble inking my stamps enough & this stuff is great…especially for intricate designs.
I am a SU demo. I really like our pads, except for the way they open. I have arthritis in my hands and find them really hard to open at times. I like way the CTMH pads open and how the lid is magnetized and sticks to the pad.
It doesn’t matter to me i don’t do enough stamping to do that
I use pretty much all Stampin up ink pads. One feature I like is they have a large surface which is great for bigger stamps. Another feature I like is the lid slides and then flips to sit on the base of the stamp case creating a nice solid surface to ink the stamps. Most of the ink pads are a foam surface and I use a spoon to push the ink around if I get spots or when re-inking. The momento black is excellent when wanting to use markers or blends, the outline of your stamped design will not run. I have been a demonstrator for several years and I use most colors frequently and I’ve only had to re-ink a few of them.
My favorite ink pad brands would be Simon Hurly. They blend so well. The colors are vibrant. Gina K designs. Her ink pads are so smooth. I enjoy both foam and linen. I also like Tim Holtz distress ink pads. Removable lid is a must. Water reactive is good. I like ink pads that are easy to handle. Not too bulky.
I like Stamping up
Sorry, don’t think I can answer the question. I am very new with this craft, still learning and have no idea of all the different types of ink pads and what they are for, so many verities.
I prefer foam over linen because the linen I have used start threading away after time.
I prefer a hybrid ink so that I can use with any coloring markers.
I have a hard time opening the SU pads (old and new) once I get it open it’s fine because then I can’t lose or misplace lid or get colors mixed up.
Hope the information helps you.
I have used Stampin’ Up pads for over 20 years and they are still goingb strong. I have started using Gina K ink pads and I like them. I prefer linen surface over the foam pads. I want to be able to take the lids completely off. I don’t want to have to unscrew a lid to remove it. Too much hassle in my opinion.
Stazon , Versamark ink pads.
Pads with lids that come completely off
I own no SU pads, and have never felt comfortable opening them.
I like Gina K and Simon Hurley stamp pads
I like Gina K and Simon Hurley diistress ink pads
My favorite is definitely Catherine Pooler. I love the properties and quality of the inks and fir me, I can only afford the smaller ones bc I truly need a good range of colors for what I do but I’m on a tight, fixed budget. Ive not had any issues with the ink or a specific pad. HTH
Stampin’ Up ink pads, pens & paper b/c they all coordinate
The only ink pad’s I have ever used are the ones provided by Stampin Up. Like the foam ones the best.
I like Stampin’ Up ink pads the best. I like the lids, and the way they stack without sliding. But I like linen pads better because people who are not familiar with stamp pads tend to make a mess with foam ones.
I prefer Stampin’ Up foam pads. It’s all I use.
I have Stampin Up and Distress and Distress Oxide. Love them both. I’ve been a stamper for about 35 years so I’ve collected lots of inks over the years but I always come back to Stampin Up and Distress inks
I love Close To My Heart stamp pads. They don’t dry out as often as the SU ink pads. The cases are so wonderful especially if you have arthritis. They are magnetic and the lid comes off easily. I don’t know if they are linen or felt.
I am hoping that SU bought their patent and will eventually convert their but they would have to exhaust their current supply which might take a couple of years. I hear people in my circles comment they don’t like SU ink pads for that reason alone.
Stamping up, foam, lid that comes off, water reactive would be fun.
The only ink pads I use are Stampin Up ones.
I have used SU and CTMH, so I’m partial to SU, probably prefer foam over linen. I like the water reactive, but can also use with VersaMark and emboss. Occasionally I get a pad the beads up, not sure what it up with that! I did like SU over CTMH. I have some Ranger Tim Holtz distress ink but haven’t explored how to use it.
I like the Stampin up pads because the lids are attached. I also like the distress oxides but hate the loose lids.
I’m a Stampin’Up! gal!! The pads were felt when I began and now 2 different opening foam ones!! The felt held ink longer period but Photopolymer stamps ink better with the foam. I like that the lid stays with the pad rather than separating like Memento pads are. Things get lost on my space when I’m creating….
ok I have only used stampin up inks, I have tried CTMH ink and did not like it, I have seen amazing results with Altenew inks though I have never tried them. I love the spongyness of stampin ups new ink pads great improvement over previous ones.
I prefer the Stampin Up! ink pads, mine are older but I like the attached lid that slides back and I love how they match paper and ribbon, and in the past, buttons and eyelets. I don’t like guessing on how to cordinate colors of cardstock with ink.
I prefer the Stampin Up brand
I have Stampin’ Up! pads and specialty pads such as VersaMark and Momento Black Ink. Foam or linen — doesn’t matter. I do like the lid attached — the way they were done before the current change. (I have never had so much ink on my hands since the latest pad design came out.)
I use ink from several different companies. I love matching ink and Cardstock and pattern papers. It makes for such an impressive card. If I had to say one preference I would say with my ink pads I prefer an easy opening container. Every one of the companies I go to have something to offer.
I’ve only really used the Stampin’ Up! ink pads, but I think I love the foam pads better than the old linen ones. That said, I don’t like how careful you have to be with a juicy new pad to prevent transferring ink to the block and paper. I kept all my retired linen SU pads and colors, but I wish I had all the reinkers, because the pads still work nicely. Hands down, the best feature of SU pads is that the colors work with the other SU items (CS, DSP, markers, etc.)
GinaKDesigns, Tim Holtz Distress and Distress Oxide.
Smooth, linen-like.
Lid that totally comes off.
Water reactive.
Blendability.
I’ve had stampin up for 25 years but since they changed the texture they seem to have too much ink and are messy. I also like the smaller sizes of other brands but hate the one inch cubes.
Pretty much the same sentiments as Kathy Dean!!
My favorite is Stampin up ink pads. I don’t buy any other brands.
I’ve only used Stampin Up. I like their color coordination
Like lid to come completely off
Like stampin up colors
I have only used the ink pads from Stampin ‘up. I do like the foam pads. I do wish the lids were easier to open.
I use almost all Stampinup ink pads and a few of the Tim Holtz. I only thing I complain about is I have trouble getting the Stampinup ones open.
Stamping Up is my fav. I do not favor one style over another, but I do like them juicy.
I love Stampin Up Ink Pads and love to use them on watercolor paper. I like it all in one because taking off the lid, placing it somewhere else, and possibly getting ink from the lid on other things is something the Stampin up pads do not do. I also love ‘burping’ the pads to user the ink to water color and pick up as much or as little ink as I want and be able to shade that way. I also love that the stamp pads stay juicy for years (I have some that are 7 years old that I am still using.)
I only use Stampin’Up! Stamp pads. Occasionally I will buy Memento ink from a big box store. I love the foam pads.
The only brand I’ve used is stampin up. They are so easy to coordinate with their papers.
Favorite brand is stampin up and I like the old style better than the foam. like the way the new style opens and closes.
I like foam pads that the cover comes off.
I like a lot of different brands. The magnetic lid is nice but I mainly pick my pads by color or for a specific technique.
The only inks I have used are Stampin Up. I am happy with them.
I have always used the stampin’up ink. Prefer the foam pad. Do wish the lid could be taken off as my arthritis gets worse.
I have to admit that I use the Stamping up foam pads. I like the colour saturation as well as the vividness of the pigments.
I use the Stampin up and also the distress oxides , oxides and have Umbrella craft inks
I love Distress Oxide Inks. Blending is easy. Can use on darker cardstock. Colors are great.
I used to only get Stamping Up inks but when they changed the packaging I stopped buying them because I have trouble getting them open.
SU & Catherine Pooler are my favorites. If I wasn’t a hobby SU demo, I’d probably use CP inks exclusively.
GinaK ink pads and paper all the way.
I have mostly Stampin Up. I prefer the foam pads.
I use Close To My Heart, Distress and Distress Oxide, and also some VersaFine Claire. I really like the Close to My Heart ink pads, with the magnetic lids that come off.
I like the Stampin Up foam pads the best. The new cases are harder to open. I do like the lids attached to the ink pad, but it would be easier if the lids came off for us seasoned stampers
Stampin Up Ink Pads, the foam ink pads and Distress Oxide Ink Pads are my favorites. I love the way the distress oxide blend also that they are water reactive and you can do many techniques with them. As far as the lids, I like the way the lid is connected on the Stampin’ Up Ink pads but don’t think it would be good for the Distress Oxide Inks. Overall they are my two favorite inks pads. For watercoloring I prefer Versafine Ink. For heat embossing I like Versamark.
I want to be totally honest here, I don’t really have favorite. That said, I do have a lot of Momento. I do like the foam types mostly because they are simply so “juicy” with ink! I am new to SU so gathering on the remarks above, I might just buy one to test out. I use a stamping platform. I have always used pads with removable lids as they are easier to use and you don’t smear ink all over yourself when trying to open the ones with lids attached.
My favorite is the newer StampinUp ink pads. I really like the foam they use now compared to the older ones from over 10 years ago. I like the way the newer ones open and stay together as well. The only ones that I use that have the take off lids are versamark and the black distressed ink . Haven’t tried anything else in years just because I love the way SU does the paper, ink pad and refill, pens, and accessories in the same colors for the most part and it really blends great when making cards.
Does anyone remember the Adirondack ink pads? I have been stamping for about 30 years. They were always my favorite. They have a raised felt pad, plenty of ink, the lid comes off and you’re able to rub or swipe the pad over the surface of your paper. The latest SU ink pads are not at all good for this technique, having tried that and almost ruined a new ink pad. Any ink pad needs to have great ink saturation, a raised surface, to dry fairly quickly, but have enough time to distress with water or add embossing powders. It would also be really nice to have the bottom on the ink pad non slip so it doesn’t scoot around your work surface.
I use SU ink pads I do like the way the colors match the paper. I like the lids but always get ink on my Misti when I use then I really like the distress and distress oxides for back grounds and mixing color. I like memories dye inks.. I also use chalk inks once in awhile.
I like the old Stampin up ink.. linen and the old slide lid.
I like the SU pads, but I preferred how the old ones worked. The new ones are hard for me to open because of the arthritis in my hands. They also were so much easier to reink.
I like SU because it matches the paper but i hate the ink pads. I keep breaking one of the hinges off and there is no way to fix it. I prefer regular removable lids. I do love Concord & 9th colors and ink pads and of course Tim Holtz oxides.
I use Stampin Up ink pads for 99% of my projects. When I first started stamping, I purchased miscellaneous cheap pads, but quickly realized I had trouble finding cardstock to match them. I like the foam pads, but they do seem to need inking more often than the felt ones.
As for the type of container, I like the lid attached — Stampin Up’s container flips so the pad is upside down, keeping the ink close to the surface. Occasionally I’ll use a Stazon ink; the “staining” of the stamp doesn’t bother me!
I prefer Stampin’ Up! ink pads best. I like the smoothness of the foam, but I like the way you popped the covers on the older pads. If coloring, I like Momento Tuxedo Black for the outlines. I like the way they automatically turn upside down.
I like the SU “old” case with foam pad. I really can’t open the “new” ones very well with my old hands. Aside from SU I LOVE Concord & Ninth inks. Easy case, foam pads, great selection of colors with great coverage and their black is really black & works with both alcohol inks and water based inks. Of course I love all of Tim Holtz’s reactive inks. The oxides blend like butter. It drives me crazy when any manufacturer pints in white on a like color like yellow or pink. I always have to relabel.
I’m fairly new at card making, 5 years, so I’m trying different brands. I’m embarrassed to say I have yet to try SU. I’m currently using Tim Holtz and the black Momentum. I’m finding my distressed inks dry out quickly, so I’m definitely on the hunt for a favorite. I did try one Catherine Pooler, but it was so juicy, it got everywhere but where I wanted. I do like removable lids and sponge.
versafine hands down for basic black stamping. I love the versatility of distress inks and distress oxide. Stampin up for the range of colors.
I have used both SU and Close to My heart. I love the Close to my Heart ink cases because they are magnetic and I can open them soooo much easier than the other ink cases. Not sure about the ink pads since I never really paid much attention to them. I just used whatever came in the stamp cases.
I like the Stampin up foam pads, but find them difficult to open. I wish they were magnetic like the Close To My Heart ink pads. I really do like how the SU ink pad color matches the cardstock, markers, ribbon, etc.
I like SU pads but i liked how the old ones opened. I also like
Stamps of Life pads. The Stamps of Life pads are always very juicy so you don’t have the press as hard with the stamps. I do have to be careful with them because they can get ink on the blocks.
I truly love the newer Stampin’ Up Ink pads. I love that they are water reactive, and oh how I feel the foam pads are so much more superior than the linen ones. I love that they have re=inkers. I much prefer the newer cases and the way they open and close.
I started stamping with Stampin’ Up, so those are the ink pads I’ve used. Found no reason to try any others. I prefer the newer foam pads and how the newer cases are easier to open and close.
I have used SU ink pads for years and years, but now slowly leaving them behind. I struggle getting the new ones open, and have always have to apply Vaseline to make the lid slide easily. I have been going toward Catherine Pooler and Gina K. Easy to open, and they blend like butter and both are water reactive, although I don’t do that too often.
I’ve been using Stampin Up pads for years and have gotten use to the foam pads. I do wish they were easier to open. My sister was a Close to My Heart Demo and the pads had magnetic tops! They would stack and hold together.. The lid just lifted off. How I wish Stampin Up had them like that.
I use mostly Stampin’ Up ink pads, but preferred the old cases because they were easier to open. I like a lid that stays attached to the pad. I also like an ink I can wash off with water. For black ink, I use VersaFine Clair because it’s so dark. I wish I didn’t have to re-ink SU pads so often, but I LOVE that they coordinate with their papers.
I use SU and like most don’t like the new foam pads as well. Have two that leaked all over in shipping. I like the little ones so easy to ink the stamps with.
Stampin’ Up has good ink but can’t tolerate the difficulty opening and closing so I don’t buy it anymore. My favorites are Catherine Pooler (love her vibrant colors!) and Gina K.
.I have purchased Stampin Up ink pads that leaked when they were shipped..
It was a one-time occurrence.
It’s been more than 20 years that I have been a fan of Stampin Ups products.
I have no complaints with the ink pads.
I basically use SU. I have a few from when I started but they were just cheap and dont know their brand. have not ordered the new ones yet
My go to ink is SU but I have all of Catherine Pooler mini ink pads. And her free color wheel is a bonus! I liked how the old SU linen pads lasted so long without needing to be re-inked, but I love the foam pads. Easier to get enough ink on the stamp and colors are more saturated. For pigment inks I use Versa Fine Clair. Love the nocturn black ink for sentiments and for heat embossing. It doesn’t matter to me whether the lid is attached or not. I love how SU and CP inks are water reactive. It’s a nice technique when you need a bit of texture. I know there are many people that don’t like the SU ink pad’s lids. They can be fussy to open but I think they work pretty slick.
