Simple Birthday Card For A Boy

Ever need a simple birthday card for a boy (of any age?)  I often do and the reason I say simple, is because I normally find out about needing these cards very last minute.  I have my nephews on the calendar, so they are all set.  But then I get an evite to one of Emily's classmates with like 14 minutes to spare – or so it seems.

This one is a favorite of mine because it uses stamps that work for boys, girls, men, and women, all that was needed to make it more of a boy card is the patterned paper.

The Project

Here is the card that I am sharing with you today.   I love the color palette, it pulls in a bright blue, yellow, orange, and gray.

The Supplies

Below are the steps to creating this card, but before we do that, let's cover the supplies.  To order any of these items, you just need to click on an image below to get started.  The only item on this list that is on the retiring list is the Best Route Paper.  BUT… the bundle pricing for the stamps and dies will retire with this catalog – so June 3rd.  If these stamps and dies are on your wish list, grab them when you order your paper to save $.

Just in case you are reading this after June 3rd, 2019, I listed the stamps and dies out separately so you can still order them.

The Making

  1. This card goes together so quickly, let me walk you through how to do it.
  2. Attach your blue patterned paper panel (4″ x 5-1/4″) to your Whisper White card base (4-1/4″ x 11″).
  3. Secure your gray patterned paper (2-3/4″ x 4-1/4″) to your card front.
  4. Make a banner on one end of your patterned paper strip (1″ x 5″) and attach as shown.
  5. Stamp the words “make a” in Blueberry Bushel ink near the top of your Whisper White piece (1-3/4″ x 3-1/2″).  Stamp the word “WISH” in Gray Granite ink as shown.  Stamp the dots that go on top of the word wish in Blueberry Bushel ink.
  6. Attach this piece of card stock to your card front.
  7. Stamp your balloon in Pineapple Punch ink onto Whisper White card stock.  Stamp your string in Gray Granite ink also onto Whisper White card stock.  Die cut these out and add to your card.
