Stampin Up Heartfelt Blooms

I think one of the most looked over items in the Sale-a-Bration catalog is the Stampin Up Heartfelt Blooms set on page 4.  Why?  I just don't think that the artwork on that page does it justice.  They projects are ok, but they don't show the depth and texture you get from the floral stamp in that set.

They are calling this type of stamp a Distinktive stamp as it as built in opacities that give the image a ton of depth.

Here is what the stamp set looks like:

Recently, at my local stamp club, my members got to use this set.  None of them had it on their initial wish list – after stamping it ONE TIME, they ALL wanted it and all but one person ordered it that night.  That is pretty crazy.  From no one to almost everyone with a single stamping of one image.  Let that sink in just a bit… That is why I don't think the artwork in the catalog does it justice.

Unfortunately I find myself needing to send out a sympathy card.  As I was looking through my stamps, I pulled out the Heartfelt Blooms.  It has a great sentiment for sympathy cards and I wanted to see how the flower looked stamped in black ink.

It is so stunning.  This is not a two step stamp.  This is one stamp, inked up one time and stamped one time on white card stock.  In the past we have had to use 7-8 images to get that kind of depth to an image, right?

With the image really being the focal point, I didn't need to add much more.  I decided to use a label die cut for the flower.  And then the perfect size label die for the sentiment came from the Rose Garden Thinlit set.

Then add an embossing folder and ribbon and this card is done.  I went with the new Simple Stripes folder since it would add texture but not detract from the stunning image like some of the busier folders would do.  Simple cotton ribbon in White finished out the card.  I have no idea why my images for this project look closer to vanilla, but they are white 🙂

I don't like making sympathy cards and would prefer spending more time thinking about what to write inside rather than focusing all my energy on designing the card.  If you get what I mean by that and you feel the same way, this is a card that is perfect for you.

And if you don't need a sympathy card, keep in mind that all you have to do is change your black card stock and black ink out for a different color.  The sentiment works for so many things!

I hope you don't need a sympathy card, but if you do, I hope this idea will help you out.  Please don't feel that the Stampin Up Heartfelt Blooms set is just for sadness – it is seriously one of the most stunning stamps in the SAB catalog, just not well represented in the catalog.  Be sure to be here on Friday – it is time for another video 🙂
