When someone is down for the count, a funny get well card can really make their day. This one is SUPER quick and easy and its cute image makes it perfect for a grown-up or a kid so I made a batch to have on hand. Let's take a peek:
This is a great stamp set and you can see another card using it here. I just love the critters – they clearly aren't feeling all that fabulous but they don't look like they are on the verge of demise, know what I mean? So they tell the story without being downers. And the giraffe reminds me of Melman from Madagascar!
These images also practically CRY out to be colored with Stampin' Blends. There are so many possibilities and with Blends the coloring is fast and those markers go on so smooth and even – everything just looks so crisp!
Here's another look:
I wanted you to see the gorgeous texture added by using the Brick & Mortar 3D Embossing Folder. Look, I admit it, I have an embossing folder problem. But you can see how one whiz through your machine gives you a rich, detailed background for our poor flipped turtle buddy! And then adding that little strip of even more texture sort of adds some “movement” so you can imagine him rolllllllllling over onto his shell!
PRO TIP – when you use the Corrugated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, cut your card stock at least 1/4″ longer than you want the finished size to be. It will “shrink” when embossing because those grooves are nice and deep. Also, emboss a panel and then cut it into strips if you are going to make a bunch of these like I did.
Oh – and I wanted to mention – you don't HAVE to use Stampin' Blends on these. These images have lots of space to color so you can use any media you like; ink refills with Aqua Painters, watercolor pencils, etc.. That said, I AM a huge fan of this latest version of the Stampin” Blends and there's no better time to start or continue to build your collection during Sale-A-Bration, when every penny you spend on goodies counts toward FREEBIES!!!!!!
Here are the things I used to make this funny get well card – you can click on any of the smaller images below, fill your cart and get it all delivered to your door! Getting the stamp set, the two embossing folders and the two sets of green Stampin' Blends gets you a freebie already!
For orders over $150 placed through my store, don't use the hostess code, you will still get you free tutorials from me. Also, if you don't get your tutorials, make sure in your Stampin Up store profile that you haven't selected the option to not allow the demonstrator to contact you. If that is checked, even if you use the code, I can't see your name/email, nuttin' – so I don't know where to send your tutorials.
