If I hadn't been playing around with the GORGEOUS Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack from the Sale-A-Bration brochure I don't know that I would have realized how black and gold greeting cards could be so luxurious looking!

Updated:  Sale-a-Bration has ended – but the idea of this project never retires!  If you look at the supplies below and the image isn't available, neither is the product.  Take a look in your stash though and see how you can recreate it 🙂

See what I mean? Just that little hint of black makes the gold absolutely POP and the crisp white sets it all off so everything just floats. I wish Stampin' Up! carried this ribbon in every single color!  It ties beautifully with the 10 Second Bow Maker, really shimmers which you can't see in this photo and is the perfect addition for when you want a little elegance but not a ton of in-your-face bling. You get two rolls, one white with silver and vanilla with gold. And it's F-R-E-E!!!  That's right – this double pack of this gorgeous ribbon is free when you spend $50 in merchandise. You can choose from this or a whole host of other products – check it out here and then here for some additional FREE items.

Here are the products I used to make this card:

If you order online, be sure to watch this video I made to help you make sure you get ALL of your freebies! You get a free item for every $50 in merchandise that you purchase AND if you get to $150 you not only get the three free items but you can order some hostess rewards, too. Be sure to watch!

Remember, when you find a color combo you love, start thinking about all the ways you can tweak it to fit it to different occasions. Coming up soon, I have a blog post for you about how a color combination I liked plus some brainstorming turned into a stinkin' cute project that I would never have expected would turn out to darned adorable. In the meantime, grab some black and some gold and some stamps and see what you come up with designing black and gold greeting cards!
