Using Stampin' Up!'s One Big Meaning Stamp Set

In today's Thank You card idea, we will be using Stampin' Up!'s One Big Meaning stamp set.  This is a new stamp set that is all different sentiments to say Thank You.

My grandmother was my best friend growing up.  We were always talking on the phone (she lived 9 hours away) and always planning our next get together.  She came and took care of me after a surgery I had in high school.  And then I did the same for her years later.  She was just an amazing woman.

One of the things I got from her was that you can never say ‘Thank You' enough.  There is always someone you should be saying it to.

I think that is why these are my most favorite cards to make.  I can see her having a conversation with someone, holding her hand, looking her right in the eye, giving her every ounce of her attention and saying, “Thank you”.

They are two powerful words, extremely powerful.  And fun!

Have you ever really told someone Thank You and they look at you confused.  Then you have to tell her why you are saying it?  And then she stands taller, she smiles bigger – because she didn't realize she has done something to make someone else appreciate her words or actions.

Ok, I could go on and on.  But instead I will get to the card.

This card was designed to be simple.  Have some polka dots and patterns, but really be about the words.

Starting with the patterned paper, I went with two patterns from the Pretty Petals Paper Stack from Stampin' Up!  This gave me my color palette.

I was able to pull in some Old Olive and Mint Macaron because of the paper – I don't think they look good together on their own.

One the two patterns were chosen and the main colors, then it was time to pull in my neutrals.  Since I wanted several layers to this card, I knew I needed two.  Very Vanilla was an obvious one, as the patterned paper has Vanilla in it.  But the other wasn't as obvious.  I finally settled on Crumb Cake.

I really love the new Ornate Tag Topper Punch.  It's just so pretty!  **UPDATED** IT IS ON SALE THIS WEEK!!!! – But only a limited number are on sale! Don't wait to grab it!

Initially when creating my tag, I just used the Ornate Tag Topper and squared off the bottom edge.  But then it just felt too boxy.  I grabbed my new Banner Triple Punch and attacked the bottom edge.

The sentiment is stamped in Old Olive ink and punched out with a circle punch.  And then it was time to do the detail work.

One of my favorite touches on the card came from the dry embossing I did with my Simply Scored.  I added a border around the top Very Vanilla piece and the bottom Crumb Cake.  It is hard to see on the vanilla, but you can really see it here:

A small heart in Calypso Coral added a nice touch to the tag portion.

All that was left was the Baker's Twine through the tag top and we are done!
